The Best And Easiest Way To Warm Up Baby Bottles On The Plane

Traveling, flying, or just leaving the comfort of your home with a baby can be a bit scary at first! In this post, I’ll show you how to warm up baby bottles on the plane so feeding your little one is easier and more comfortable. I remember when we had to fly with Kai from Israel to Seattle. He was only 4 months old and I had so much anxiety about it! It went incredibly smoothly, partially due to us preparing so well for our overseas adventure.

Warm Up Baby Bottles On The Plane

Now that we’ve taken over 30 flights and many trips with him and Zyra, it has become so much easier. We have a little routine going, which includes managing the car seattravel stroller, and toddler travel bed. We’ve figured out the best ways to pack them efficiently and what essentials to bring.

When it comes to feeding babies on the plane, some don’t mind having room temperature or even cold milk, while other babies (like mine) will absolutely REFUSE it.

I found the best and easiest way to warm up baby bottles on the plane! My solution was this baby bottle warmer that can travel with me anywhere I go ( and doesn’t require BATTERIES or being plugged in to work). It was an absolute lifesaver, and I think you’ll find it super helpful too.

Use a Bottle Warmer

The best, and easiest way to warm up baby bottles on the plane is by using a bottle warmer like this one by Tommee Tippee. You simply store the hot water in the thermos, then pour it into the white container below and place your bottle inside. (*see more detailed directions below).

There are many things I liked about it:

1. It doesn’t require a battery, so it doesn’t need to be charged

2. It didn’t leak in my diaper bag (has a leakproof lid)

3. It can be used to warm up baby food, breast milk, or formula.

I brought it with me to my husband’s basketball games overseas and used it during flights when we flew internationally.

We use bottles from this Tommee Tippee bottle set  in addition to the thermos to warm up baby bottles on the plane. It worked great for us. In addition, it has over 10k ratings, averaging 4.5 stars on Amazon!

How To Use Tommee Tippee Portable Bottle Warmer

Step 1. Fill up the thermal container with hot water.

Step 2. Make sure the lid is on tightly.

Step 3. When you need to use it, pour the hot water into the white/clear container.

TIP: Since you can experience turbulence on the plane, you have to make sure not to overfill this container with hot water, otherwise, the water will spill out once you place the bottle in it.

Step 4. Let the bottle warm up in the container. Make sure to test the formula /milk temperature before giving it to the baby.

Pro Tip on the Easiest Way To Warm Up Baby Bottles On The Plane

Do keep in mind that some of the smaller planes might not have beverage service therefore they won’t have water or drinks. This usually ISN’T the case, however, if you have a very short flight coming up (1 hour, 1 hour 45 minutes), it’s better to just be safe and fill up your thermos with hot water at the coffee shop before boarding the plane. (A friend of mine had this issue while flying with American Airlines).

The Tommee Tippee Portable Bottle Warmer is the best simply because it’s easy to use, compact, and doesn’t require an external source to keep it running.

It is also BPA-free, which is great because you want to limit your baby’s exposure to BPA as much as possible.

Bring the infant formula with you in this Portable Milk Powder Dispenser. It is stackable and super convenient.
