Pros of Away Luggage

  • Away luggage warranty (limited lifetime)
  • Lightweight and spacious
  • Great and dependable customer service
  • Smooth ride
  • 360-degree wheels that are easy to maneuver (even on pavement and cobblestone)
  • Quality finish
  • Great extras such as the built-in laundry/wet bag
  • Modern and aesthetic designs
  • Underside grab handles
  • Expandable zippers

Cons of Away Luggage

  • Comes at a price that some might not feel comfortable paying (especially if they don’t travel a lot).
  • Some customers reported issues with the aluminum luggage having some faulty zippers, however, they were replaced by Away luggage warranty so it’s just something to be considerate of. Not a biggie in my opinion.
  • Lighter colors seem to get dirty easily.

Away Medium vs Large

If you’re wondering what the difference is between Away medium vs large suitcase, then this is for you. Simply put, the medium bag is perfect for a 1-2 week vacation, while the large is for 2+ week-long getaways. Both have great features such as the TSA-approved combination lock, 360-degree spinner wheels, and quality, durable hard shell.

I recommend going with the medium vs large expandable suitcase so you don’t risk going over the 50 lb weight limit.

Away Medium vs Large Luggage Dimensions

Away Medium Luggage dimensions:

  • Exterior measurements 26″ x 18.5″ x 11″
  • Interior measurements 23.5″ x 17.8″ x 10.2″
  • Weight 10.4 lbs
  • Capacity 68.8 L
  • Measurements include wheels.

The Away large Luggage dimensions:

  • Exterior measurements 29″ x 20.5″ x 12.5″
  • Interior measurements 26.9″ x 19.7″ x 10.6″
  • Weight 12.1 lbs
  • Capacity 99.2 L
  • Measurements include wheels.`

Their website offers a great diagram that helps compare the Away medium vs large bags. It’s a great visual with all the necessary details.

Honestly, if you’re still unsure which suitcase to get, get both and return the one that you don’t end up using! You have 100 days to return or exchange it, as long as the bag isn’t personalized.

What Does Away Luggage Warranty Cover?

away luggage warranty

Away luggage warranty covers “functional damage to the shell, wheels, handles, zippers, or anything else that impairs your use of the luggage”.

The battery itself is only covered for two years. If a part of the luggage is broken, Away will send you a repair kit. If you are unable to fix the part, a replacement bag will be issued to you at no cost.

Read the full Away luggage warranty policy, or contact them directly with any questions.

It’s worth noting that the Away luggage warranty has been a significant selling point for many customers. Thankfully, I haven’t had to use it yet with my Away bag, but I reached out to some friends and family to ask about their experiences, and here’s what I found out.

  • A close friend of mine has been using her Away bag for over five years on many international trips. Her shell cracked, and she contacted Away for a replacement. They replaced her bag at no cost. She was impressed with their seamless process and impressive customer service.
  • My aunt had an issue with a broken battery on her Away bag. After sending them a direct message on Instagram, they replaced her bag within minutes. She raved about their excellent customer service!

To conclude, the Away luggage warranty is highly respected and appreciated within the travel community. I have not come across any negative feedback regarding the customer service, return process, or warranty usage.

What Does Away Luggage Warranty Not Cover?

While the Away luggage warranty is AMAZING, there are some things it does NOT cover. They are the following:

  • Cosmetic damage such as normal wear and tear, color changes, scratches, and so on.
  • Luggage that isn’t purchased from an authorized reseller or directly from Away.
  • Battery after two years.

Is The Away Carry On Bag Worth It?

Yes, the Away carry-on bag is worth it and is a great investment for those traveling frequently. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a five-day work trip, this bag is the perfect fit for all your needs. It’s one of my favorites because it helps keep things organized and even includes its signature interior compression system.

There are six different options for the carry-on, each varying in size and equally great. The Classic carry-on is highly recommended and is perfect for 3-5 day trips and adventures. Its functionality, top design, and components make it the ideal carry-on. It’s no wonder this bag has even won awards!

Is Away Luggage Worth It?

Yes, Away luggage is definitely worth the investment. There are several reasons why these suitcases are considered high-end. Firstly, the wheels are of exceptional quality, making it easy to pull the bag around. Secondly, once you experience the convenience and practicality of an Away suitcase, you’ll likely want to purchase one in every size. That’s because they are truly game-changing and offer top-tier functionality.

Oh, and we can’t forget about the Away luggage warranty, which covers cracks in the shell of the luggage, broken wheels or handles, zippers, and fabric tears. What more can you ask for?
