Maxi Cosi Pria: Convertible Car Seat Honest Mom Review
Before our big family road trip from St. Louis to West Virginia, we decided to upgrade our car seat. With a nine-hour drive ahead and our little guy Kai, who was just eight months old and growing like a weed, it was clear he needed more comfort than his infant seat could offer. So, we picked up the Maxi-Cosi Pria 3-in-1 car seat ( also known as the Maxi Cosi Pria All-in-One car seat) figuring it was the perfect time for the switch.
I did my homework and found that the Maxi-Cosi Pria had some pretty impressive reviews—an average rating of 4.6 stars caught my eye. It seemed like a solid choice, so I dug deeper.
The features of the Maxi-Cosi Pria quickly won me over. Its design, and the promise to be the only car seat you’ll need, were particularly appealing.
Fast forward to 2025, and I’m thrilled to say that we’ve had four years of great experience with this car seat. We’ve taken it on numerous road trips across the US and tested it in five different vehicles—both cars and SUVs.
But my review doesn’t stop at the Maxi-Cosi Pria. I also share my thoughts on other baby and toddler gear, like the Guava Lotus Travel Crib, various inflatable toddler beds, the WayB Pico car seat, and more, right here on my blog. I only review products I personally use, so you know you’re getting honest feedback.
Now, let’s talk about the details of the Maxi-Cosi Pria All-in-One Convertible Car Seat so you as a parent can have the information you need before deciding on the purchase. PS: Walmart runs sales on them sometimes so just something to keep in mind.

Pros and Cons of Maxi Cosi Pria Car Seat
My first impression after unboxing the Maxi Cosi Pria 3-in-1 Convertible Car seat is that this car seat definitely has that “LUXE” feel and it has so many features.
It has three levels for the recline position itself. It has memory foam padding, which is super soft and high quality providing your little one with added comfort. It comes with three pillows, one of them being a wedge. All three are removable and the best part is that they’re washer and dryer safe.
This car seat is also equipped with The G CELL side impact protection, which is an important safety feature that protects your child’s head. I’m so glad this car seat offers that as well. It also comes with 2 cup holders that are dishwasher safe. So far we used one for Kai’s sippy cup, and the other for toys. I do want to add that sometimes these come out a bit too easily for my liking, but not a deal breaker.
Maxi Cosi Pria car seat has a wide range of weight and age, so it fits little ones from birth until they grow up to be 10 years old, and weighing from 4-100 lbs.
Another plus is that the shoulder harness is super easy to adjust to make it fit each child; plus these harness holders on the side make it easier for you to get your child in and out of the seat.
The headrest is easy to adjust as well. All you have to do is squeeze the button and move it up or down until you find the perfect fit for your child. There are a total of five headrest heights.
Thing to Consider
There are so many great features to the Maxi-Cosi Pria 3-in-1 convertible car set. My son Kai seemed to really enjoy it during our 9-hour road trip and for the last 4+ years.
However, I think it’s important to take a minute to talk about the cons.
One thing to keep in mind is that the car seat is quite bulky and takes up a lot of room, so it might not fit in a smaller car.
We tested it out, and It fit in the back of a Tesla, a BMW sedan, a Camero, a Suburban, and a Toyota Camry. Rear-facing will be a tighter squeeze.
It’s somewhat heavy, weighing 19.25 lbs, so for some, it might be difficult to travel with. A great travel car seat is the Cosco Scenera since it’s lightweight. You can read my review about it here.
Another con of the Maxi Cosi All-in-One car seat is that it is on the pricier side of things, estimated to cost around ~ $USD 300.
