Microblading is a semi-permanent (meaning it will fade over time) makeup procedure which will not only make your eyebrows look fuller, but will also help you save time getting ready in the morning!
The artist uses a handheld tool (which is a blade of microneedles) to carefully and precisely create hair-like strokes between the epidermis (the outermost covering of skin) and the dermis layers of the skin.
A tattoo, on the other hand, is where a machine and needle is used to penetrate the dermal layer to deposit pigment.
Clients with the following are NOT candidates for microblading. Please read the following permanent makeup contraindications carefully, to evaluate if you are an eligible candidate. If you are unsure, feel free to contact me directly.
- MINORS: anyone under 18 years of age.
- SKIN CONDITIONS, INFECTIONS, and DISEASES SUCH AS: dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis, acne vulgaris, rosacea, impetigo, follicuritis, herpes simplex, candidiasis, urticaria, psoriasis, malignant melanoma, lupus.
**(Treatment CAN be performed on clients with: lentigo, melasma, vitiligo).
- ANYONE UNDERGOING CHEMOTHEREAPY
- CLIENTS WITH FILLERS NEAR THE EYEBROW AREA
- CLIENTS WHO HAVE A SUNBURN
- CLIENTS WHO ARE ON BLOOD THINNER MEDICATIONS.
- WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT OR NURSING (for more information check the answer to this question below =).
While there haven't been many tests done, we can all agree that it's best not to risk the safety of your baby for well-groomed eyebrows.
Pregnancy hormones affect your blood circulation, and they make you more likely to bleed. Excess bleeding may lead to subpar microblading results, since it could fade the pigment or impact its absorption into the skin.
Numbing creams help ease pain during a microblading session, however, these topical anesthetics often contain epinephrine (which may be linked to fetal tachycardia and cardiac problems).
At your appointment you can expect:
1. Consultation: we will discuss your brow goals together
2. Pre procedure: I will create an eyebrow shape that fits the structure of your face and once you approve the eyebrow shape we will continue to the next step, which is the actual procedure.
3. Procedure. This is where I carefully and precisely create individual strokes that will look like hairs. The time varies. Usually it takes between 3-4 hours.
4. Aftercare instructions. We will discuss the proper steps you need to take at home in order for the brows to heal well and have great retention.
Please keep in mind, this is a 2 step procedure. Requiring 2 appointments total.Second appointment is mandatory to finish the procedure. Once your brows heal, in 6-8 weeks you will be expected to return to the salon for a touchup appointment.
In general, clients report having a 3/10 pain level AT MOST. A numbing agent will be used during the procedure to ensure best possible comfort to the client. Some clients have actually slept through the whole appointment.
The longevity of the eyebrows depends on many factors. First, the clients aftercare, their lifestyle, and habits. We will discuss how to properly care for your brows post procedure to get the best possible retention and healing. On average, microblading lasts 1-3 years.
The following restrictions are to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for the procedure. Please read carefully:
